Daffodils and my Sweet Sixteenth!

Bonjour mes amis! (Hello my friends, to anyone who doesn't speak French. ;) Not that I'm fluent or anything -- hah!)

Welp, it's been exactly two weeks since I last posted... and over the course of those two weeks I battled the worst illness I've had pretty much ever. Needless to say, it wasn't fun. :P Skipping all the gory details, I'm finally over it... buuuuut now I've caught a bit of a flu. -_- Oh well. Lord willing, I'll be over that soon! :)

But anyway... yesterday was my 16th birthday! :D I FEEL SO DIFFERENT NOW IT'S JUST CRAZY.

Ok.  I lied.  I actually don't. xD Well, maybe a little. A little sweeter..? ;)

Birthday daffodils :)
So, I've got a little birthday tradition... every year my parents give me a pot of my favorite flowers ever -- daffodils!! They're now known as "my flower." ;) And this year I got my absolute favorite variety: giant and bright yellow. :D

And for my birthday evening, my family and I all watched Megamind, which my oldest sister, Alissa, gave me. I'd been dying to own it ever since I first saw it, because it is HILARIOUS! If you haven't seen it, go, now, go rent it. It looks dumb, but it. is. great. ;)

Anyways. Just wanted to say hey to ya'll and let you know I'm not dead -- just was sick for a bit. ;)

Hopefully a more interesting post will be up soon! I've been itching to get my hands on a new project...... :D

Long Sleeves to Tank Top Refashion

Ah, greetings, dear followers and friends! :D

I've got another refashion to share with you all! (If you haven't noticed, I've become rather obsessed with them over the past couple weeks.. ;)

This refashion was super easy, except for sewing the knit fabric, which was a bit tricky. But in the end I got it done. ;)  So, this is what I started with... it's a girl's size 14/16, and, I just -- ew.  The cut of it just makes me want to gag... :P

Oh, and look, we've even got a nice little hole goin' on... ;D Which obviously could be easily fixed, but I want this shirt to be different. BETTER different. ;)

So let's make this thing... *FABULOUS!* ;)

Chop chop -- goodbye yucky sleeves!

And also goodbye to that icky neckline...

Sylvie approves. ;D But we're not done yet!

I then sewed the raw edges under...

...and went ahead and lowered the neckline a bit...

Then sewed that seam and ironed the edges flat.

Ah yes. Much more fabulous. ;)

Khaki Pants to Shorts Refashion

Yo peeps. B)

So today I was going stir-crazy as to lack of a good project. I STILL have not gotten the fabrics for my Elsa (from Disney's "Frozen") cosplay, so I was just like -- ok. I have to do SOMETHING.

So I did one of the easiest refashions EVER: pants to shorts.

I've done this probably twice before, and both pairs turned out lovely, so when I was rummaging through my fabric box and pulled out these beauties...

Not so beautiful..?
...the thought of turning them into shorts immediately entered my mind, because, first of all, I couldn't really see myself ever wanting to wear khaki pants... :p And second of all, khaki shorts are pretty cute, in my opinion. ;) And I don't have a pair! So win-win right there.

So, time to get to it. Off with the length!

Measure twice, cut once... or measure twice, cut twice... xD
Buuuut with this new-found shortness, the pockets were almost too long. So, I went ahead and chopped those up a bit as well. ;)

Sew sew sew...

This color thread happened to be in my machine, so I just rolled with it... ;D

All hemmed up and no where to go! ;)
VOILAAAAAAAAAAAAA and a mandatory selfie shot...
Ignore the no-makeup face and white legs. xD
For this pair, I decided to just go rolled-style. Super easy, and then you don't have to hem them. ;) But that red thread kind of makes me want to try hemming them with it for random color... idk. I might add that later. :)

Until the next time! :)

Hello all fangirls/boys! ;)

So, I came across something on Pinterest a while ago that I need to share with ya'll... and that each and every one of you must participate in. :D

It's occurring on February 15 (only two weeks away!), the day after Valentine's Day, and will be happening world-wide, with YOUR participation!! :D

Hello, followers, friends, and people of all kinds. This is for any fangirl or fanboy, anywhere in the world at all. I have realized that fandoms generally judge each other, we are never united. But we are all more or less the same. We are all obsessed about things (more like people) who we know we will never meet. We ALL love something so much, that no one can begin to understand. More on that later. *right in the feels*

Anyway, to the point, we need to be more united. So I have thought up #Fandompocalypse Day." Whether you are in a book fandom, a show fandom, a band fandom, a webcomic fandom, an anime fandom, or any other fandom AT ALL about ANYTHING, this is for YOU.

On February 15, the day after Valentine's day, it is "Fandompocalypse Day." Write "Fandompocalypse" on your left arm in green ink (even though that's supposedly not a creative color) and wear ANY article of clothing that has to do with your fandom. This includes cosplay, T-shirts, pants, hats, headbands, or anything that has to do with your fandom at all. You can even act like your favorite character all day, for all I care. Just participate!!!

My point is, we need to be united as one for at least this day. There is one more thing that is a part of this day. If you see any other person that has "Fandompocalypse" on their left arm, you must go up and say hey to them, hug them, whatever. It doesn't matter if they are a part of the fandom you normally detest, we are ALL fangirls and fanboys, we shouldn't judge each other!

The last matter of business, get this spread ALL over. On Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Pinterest, Instagram, anywhere else, whatever. Use the hashtag "#FANDOMPOCALYPSE" on your pic, and tell your friends about it. Let's make this happen, fandoms!!! Now go and spread the news!!

And that is it, fellow fans!! I'm so excited for this, and can't wait to see other fan peoples participating!!! :D

And don't forget - spread the word! ;)
